Step-by-step preparation:
1. Preparing the starter (activating the yeast): Pour warm water into a deep bowl and add the crumbled yeast, sugar, and 2–3 tablespoons of sifted flour. Mix thoroughly with a whisk and leave in a warm place for 10 minutes. A fluffy, foamy "cap" should form on the surface.
2. Mixing the base batter: Stir the starter gently, then add the remaining sifted flour, salt, and vanillin. Mix until you have a smooth batter with the consistency of thick sour cream. Cover the bowl with a towel and leave it in a warm place for 15 minutes to rise.
3. Preparing the apples and final rest: Peel and core the apples, then slice them into thin, small pieces. Add the sliced apples to the risen batter, gently fold them in using a spatula (using a top-to-bottom motion), and let the mixture rest for another 5 minutes for a final rise. Do not stir the batter again after this step, so as not to deflate its airy structure!
4. Frying until golden: Heat a frying pan well with a generous amount of sunflower oil. Carefully scoop the batter from the edge of the bowl with a tablespoon and drop it into the pan. Fry over medium heat on both sides until beautifully golden brown. 5. (Optional) Tender apple slices for garnish: For an even more elegant presentation, slice an extra apple, sprinkle with 1 tsp of sugar, and cook briefly in the oven or microwave for 2–3 minutes until soft.
6. Serving: Arrange the hot fritters on a plate, top with the caramelized apple slices, and drizzle with "Korolivskiy Smak" brand condensed milk.
